MEET Keli (Huebner) Gilson '08
Major: Political Science
Minor: Communication
Career: Human Resources and Operations Manager at Kingdom Workers
Why did you choose WLC?
My original plan was to go to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Shortly before the registration deadline, I toured WLC and quickly changed my mind. Being on campus just felt right, and the dorms didn’t hurt!
Tell us about your favorite WLC experience.
It’s hard to pick just one, but I’ll always have fond memories of the marine ecology class in Jamaica. Although it led to sea sickness and a future inability to be on boats, it was awesome to learn with friends from WLC, make new friends from other schools, and experience the Jamaican culture.
What have you accomplished on your bucket list since graduation?
My husband and I moved to Arizona for five years and our son was born there. I’ve also been blessed to travel internationally a few times and check some of those places off the list.
What goal are you working toward right now?
My husband and I joined the pickleball craze and are working on our skills to be more competitive.
What is one thing most people don't know about you?
I always have a bag of Whole Grain Goldfish nearby.
What was your first job?
My first job was a cashier at Piggly Wiggly.
What is something valuable you learned during your career?
There are always things to learn and no one has all of the answers.
