Why did you choose WLC?

I chose WLC for its focus on preparing Christian leaders, as well as its warm and friendly atmosphere and liberal arts education.

Tell us about your favorite WLC experience.

I’ve never been very good at picking “favorites” and have always joked that I reserve the right to change my mind (because I often change my mind – though I'm getting better and more decisive as I age), so this is a tough question for me. I can’t pick a singular experience – I would say some favorite aspects of my WLC experience would be the friendships made and being in an environment that helped me thrive and mature as a young Christian woman.

What have you accomplished on your bucket list since graduation?

I went to graduate school and pursued a Master’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders to be a speech-language pathologist and have been practicing for 14 years. I am blessed to be married to James, and we have our 12-year-old son, Daniel. I was also blessed to travel a few places here and there after graduation.

What goal are you working toward right now?

I am working toward earning my CBIS (Certified Brain Injury Specialist) certification to further my work in the cognitive communication space.

What is one thing most people don't know about you?

I love paddleboarding (though I’ve only done it a handful of times), and I love playing board games and talking smack. I also love just sitting and watching birds and butterflies do their thing.

What was your first job?

Technically, before college it was babysitting and then working at Kmart in the checkout/customer service area. After college, I worked at Wisconsin Lutheran High School in the development office as an administrative assistant.

What is something valuable you learned during your career?

First and foremost, the more I learn, the less I know! There is so much opportunity to grow and learn and I embrace those opportunities. I’ve also learned how to work with a lot of different personalities, and that through it all, God is always working to accomplish His good work.

“I support WLC because I believe in the value of a solid Christian education. There are so many Christian congregations that benefit or would benefit from having WLC graduates serve and share their talents in their ministries. WLC prepares students for this life and the next.”
