Why did you choose WLC?
I originally attended Wright State University on an athletic scholarship and was looking for a change after my sophomore year. When I visited Wisconsin Lutheran College, the Christian, caring environment and the kindness of everyone on campus was so unique compared to what I had experienced that I knew WLC was the right college for me.
Tell us about your favorite WLC experience.
My favorite experience at WLC was winning the conference championship in basketball my senior season and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.
Who is your favorite WLC professor or staff member?
Dean/Coach Paul Knueppel was my favorite staff member at WLC. I worked for him in the WLC Student Affairs Office. He not only pushed me outside my comfort zone in the office by having me lead Intramurals, but he also taught me so many life lessons through his individual meetings and office story time.
What have you accomplished on your bucket list since graduation?
I would have never guessed how much God would bless my family 20 years ago. Having four Christian children and a spouse who value God’s Word is certainly a blessing. My family runs multiple businesses in the housing industry. I have also had the opportunity to coach my children in sports and coach basketball and golf at WLC. Our family has also traveled throughout North America, and I have only a few states left before I have visited all 50.
What is next on your bucket list to complete?
I held an NCAA free throw record for more than 20 years, and it was just broken in January 2024. My new bucket list item is that one of my kids re-sets the record to get it back into the family.
