QUICK LAUNCH SSO
Wisconsin Lutheran College uses QuickLaunch SSO, a single sign-on program that you can access at https://account.wlc.edu.
This program enhances WLC’s cybersecurity and allows you to update your WLC password and manage required apps more efficiently.
By using this program, you will be able to access the following with one username and password:
- Canvas learning management software
- Medicat health forms and insurance information
- myWLC campus portal
- Schwan Library resources
- Sprocket work order requests
- Warrior Mail email account
- …and more

STUDENT WI-FI ACCESS PORTAL LINK
STEP 1: ACCESS THE ONLINE PORTAL
- Devices already connected to the internet: Go to https://wlc.apogee.us to sign into the portal.
- Devices not connected to the internet: When connecting for the first time, go to your wireless settings and connect to MyResNet Start Here. This will automatically take you to the online portal: https://wlc.apogee.us.
STEP 2: SIGN IN
Once you are on the portal:
- Sign in using your WLC credentials.
- Accept the terms and complete your profile.
- Once the account has been created, you will see a pop-up with your wi-fi password. Make note of the password.
NOTE: To change your Wi-Fi password, click “show Wi-Fi password” under the “Add Devices” tab. This is a private password and should not be shared.
STEP 3: CONNECT TO THE NETWORK
- Navigate to the wireless settings on each device.
- Connect to MyResNet-5G
- Enter your wi-fi password when prompted to connect.
- Enable the “auto-join” feature.
HELPFUL TIPS:
MyResNet-5G: Connect to MyResnet-5G for the fastest wi-fi connection. This should be your
default setting. You can connect to MyResNet2G if your device is not 5G compatible.
MyResnet Start Here: Forget this network on your device once you have created your account.

Students living in the residence halls have ethernet connections available in their rooms but must provide their own cords to connect.

Campus Computer Labs for Students
Two computer labs are available to students in the Schwan Library. Additional curricular labs throughout campus include the music lab in the Center for Arts and Performance, math and computer science labs in Generac Hall, and a number of laptop carts for on-demand instructional computing. Although both resident and commuting students have access to these labs, most students prefer to have their own computer to accommodate their personal study habits.
Mobile printing allows you to print on campus from a personal computer or device.
- Compose an email from your WLC email account to mobileprint@wlc.edu.
- Attach your document (PDF format preferred).
- Swipe your Warrior OneCard at a WLC printer.
- Select document and press options to set: Duplex (print double sided); Color or B/W
- Press Print.
Availability of software in certain disciplines often determines what kind of computer will best meet a student's needs. Most academic programs at WLC use Windows-based PCs. However, Fine Arts and Music majors tend to use Mac computers. Wisconsin Lutheran College fully supports both environments.
We recommend that you stay away from Chromebooks. They do not necessarily support Microsoft Office 365, which is required and provided free through WLC, and are not compatible with some of the additional software you might need to use while on campus.
For students interested in pursuing nursing, Chromebooks, iPads, and tablets are not compatible with software that is required in nursing classes.
Typically, most new computers have sufficient power and storage for college students.
We suggest the following considerations as you explore options:
- HARD DRIVE: Solid State Drives (SSD) are faster and are quickly replacing the standard hard drive.
- MINIMUM recommended size for a hard drive is 128GB. Anything less than that and you risk running out of space for storage and to run updates (Windows needs 8GB free for updates).
- The typical hard drive now is a 250GB SSD, though some people prefer 500GB to 1TB depending on how many photo and video files you plan to save.
- If you purchase a 250GB SSD, you can always save files to online applications (OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) or external hard drives for additional storage.
- RAM: 4GB to 16GB; 8GB is the standard; you can add more RAM later on most models.
- MICROSOFT OFFICE 365: Microsoft Office is standard across most platforms and runs on all Windows and iOS enabled devices. As long as you are enrolled at WLC, you can take advantage of up to five free downloads of Microsoft Office for your personal devices. This includes the newest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and is part of your WLC email account, which is on Office 365.
- ACCESSORIES: Students must supply their own network cables to connect to ethernet. We recommend that students have a surge protector on all computers used in campus housing. Inexpensive surge protectors ($20-$30) are available at most retail stores. For greater protection, consider purchasing an APC Back-UPS unit (starting at approximately $50).
- Apple offers small education/student discounts on Mac devices (Apple Education Store).
- Reduced cost Microsoft, Adobe, and other software products are available to all faculty, staff, and students through an arrangement with JourneyEd. Visit the JourneyEd website and select Wisconsin Lutheran College from the drop-down list at the bottom to start the process.
Getting Messages On Campus
- Dial 8888 from your phone.
- Enter your passcode when prompted.
- A message will play telling you what unplayed or played messages you have.
- When you are done, press 9 to exit.
- Hang up.
Getting Messages Off Campus
- Dial your phone number.
- When your voicemail picks up, press * and your passcode.
- A message will play telling you what unplayed or played messages you have.
- When you are done, press 9 to exit.
- Hang up.
Activating Your Voicemail Mailbox For the First Time
- From you own phone, dial 8888.
- Enter the temporary passcode that has been given to you.
- Follow the tutorial.
- Remember: You MUST set up your name, a greeting, and a passcode to be able to access your messages.

WLC email accounts, called Warrior Mail, are provided for all Wisconsin Lutheran College students. Students must check their college email regularly. Failure to check one's email account does not excuse the lack of knowledge regarding information in the email.
Your username is public information but your password is private and confidential.
