Wisconsin Lutheran choirs conclude season May 2

Spring concert selections span the globe

MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir, Chamber Choir, and Chapel Choir will present their final concert of the 2013-2014 academic year on Friday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Schwan Concert Hall.

The Chapel Choir, a women's ensemble under the direction of Mrs. Carolyn Fons, will open the concert with Arise, My Soul, Arise; Orpheus with his Lute; and Three Madrigals.

Under the direction of Dr. James Nowack, the Chamber Choir will perform the music of Eric Whitacre, including Animal Crackers, Vol. 1 and selections from The City and the Sea.

The Wisconsin Lutheran Choir's performance will span the globe with songs from seven countries. Daniel Moldenhauer will be featured in Fa Shu Ha (Taiwan) by Yu-Wie Hsie. Kimberly Neuman and Coltyn VonDeylen will be featured in U2's MLK (Ireland). Anna Biedenbender will be featured in Dolly Parton's Light of a Clear Blue Morning, arr. Craig Hella Johnson.

The Schwan Concert Hall is located in the college's Center for Arts and Performance at 8815 W. Wisconsin Ave. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students; they may be ordered online or by calling the WLC Box Office at 414.443.8802.
