MILWAUKEE – The College of Adult & Graduate Studies and Instructional Design Center of Wisconsin Lutheran College are pleased to announce the second annual Google Education Summit, to be held in June 2013. Between June 17 and 21, educators can participate in this innovative conference focused on enhancing teaching skills through the development of dynamic, media-rich, and interactive Google projects.
The Google Education Summit is an opportunity for educators to directly impact student engagement in their classrooms. Participants acquire 21st century instructional design skills through the study of more than 20 Google applications in a hands-on, creative, and experiential environment. Throughout the weeklong conference, they will be asked to transform a traditional lesson plan into a digital, media-rich project centered on Google educational technologies. Participants have the opportunity to earn three graduate level credits and receive a Google Chromebook.
Professor Joe Du Fore, director of digital education at Wisconsin Lutheran College, states, "Google technologies provide teachers and students with a way to impact their daily education through the use of relevant digital tools and concepts. At the Google Education Summit, we aim to share these tools and concepts with educators so they can better prepare their classrooms in an increasingly digital environment." He concludes, "At Wisconsin Lutheran College, we want to help educators stay ahead of the curve in digital education."
The Google Education Summit features renowned presenters, including Google certified trainers, as well as educators and administrators who have recently implemented Google technologies in their schools. The diverse backgrounds of various presenters help ensure a relevant experience for all educators. The summit is designed as an immersive experience, enabling educators to seamlessly take what they've learned and created directly into their classrooms.
