Based on the popular Disney film, The Lion King first opened on Broadway on November 13, 1997, at the New Amsterdam Theater. You can marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life by award-winning director Julie Taymor, whose visual images for this show you'll remember forever. Thrill to the pulsating rhythms of the African Pridelands and unforgettable scores including Elton John and Tim Rice's Oscar-winning song "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Circle of Life." Let your imagination run wild at the Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation Newsweek calls, "a landmark event in entertainment." As of April 2012, The Lion King is the highest grossing Broadway show of all time.

Before tickets went on sale to the general public, the Wisconsin Lutheran College Office of Alumni Relations snatched up the entire first row of seats in the Family Circle section. This expected-to-sell-out show in Appleton's Fox Cities Performing Arts Center begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013. The cost per ticket is $67 and includes a $5 tax-deductible donation to WLC.

This is a great gift idea for family and friends! If you have any questions, contact Lisa Leffel, director of alumni relations, at (414) 443-8796 or lisa.leffel@wlc.edu.
