Center for International Education staff

Greetings from WLC!

Cynthia Fitzsimmons head shot

My name is Cynthia Fitzsimmons, and I am the Director of the Center for International Education at Wisconsin Lutheran College. It is my distinct pleasure to work with our international students.

Professionally, I have experience assisting American students in their pursuits of studying abroad in foreign countries, and truly believe in the benefit of those experiences. I congratulate you on seeking out similar opportunities in the United States. WLC is committed to providing quality teaching, scholarship and service.

In my free time I love to travel, especially to destinations abroad! I would love to hear about your home country to get the inside scoop on the “must sees” there! I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, attempting to cook, and playing volleyball.

Our campus is very supportive and welcoming, and is located in the city of Milwaukee - a cultural, artistic, economic and recreational center of the state of Wisconsin. I assure you there is never a shortage of things to do. It would be an honor to assist you through your exploration of WLC.

Email me at Best Wishes!

My name is Eric Ulm and I serve at Wisconsin Lutheran College as International Student Advisor and Department of Homeland Security Designated School Official. I assist students with academic programs and immigration issues, checking and certifying official documents for F-1 international students, keeping students in compliance with state and federal law.

I joined the WLC family after having taught English in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China for two years. During my years in Ningxia, I learned just how important support staff is for foreign nationals, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to serve the international students here at WLC. I have also had opportunities to travel to several different countries and experience their local culture and customs.

I am honored to welcome international guests to our campus and enjoy learning from them and sharing our campus culture in return. Email me at
