Concert Band

Concert Band is an ensemble that performs the finest of the wind band literature and presents concerts on the campus and tours regionally and nationally. Membership in this organization is through a seating audition. The band meets five hours each week while exploring a wide variety of band compositions and arrangements. Students receive one credit per semester for their participation. Learn about current and past band tours.

    Terry Treuden Image

    After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a bachelor of science degree in music education, Prof. Terry S. Treuden began teaching at Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee. During his 30-year tenure, he served as high school band director and as the director of the elementary beginning band. He taught instrumental lessons to students in grades 5-12. He also taught music theory and church music. Prof. Treuden served as the fine arts department chairman for many years, and directed the high school's A Cappella Choir, marching band, competitive summer band, flute choir, clarinet choir, pep bands, jazz ensembles, and other small music ensembles.

    Prof. Treuden began as director of instrumental music at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the fall of 1999. He currently directs the WLC Concert Band, Jazz Band, Clarinet Ensemble and Chamber Ensemble. Prof. Treuden teaches various music classes, including conducting and arranging. He served as the instrumental conductor of the WELS Southeastern District Reformation Festival and was also the guest conductor/head clinician for the 2000 WELS Western District Massed Band Festival in Mosinee, Wisconsin. In 2004, he conducted the College All-Star Band at the WNBA State Convention in Wisconsin Rapids. He continues to serve as an adjudicator and clinician in jazz and concert performance, and play professionally as his schedule permits. Prof. Treuden serves on the WELS Commission on Worship, and on the Woody Herman/Sister Fabian Jazz Scholarship committee. He recently retired as the conductor of the Oconomowoc American Legion Band.

    He currently is a member of the National Band Association, the International Association of Jazz Educators, the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, Phi Beta Mu, Wisconsin Band Masters, and the College Band Directors National Association.
