Information for Future Students
Thank you for your interest in the professional nursing program at Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC). Upon successful completion of the nursing program, individuals are awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and are eligible to take the national board exam (NCLEX) for licensure as a registered nurse. There is high demand for nurses who have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to provide high quality, safe patient care. Development of these qualities is a priority for nursing students at WLC. Students in the nursing program take classes in the liberal arts and life sciences, which provide a strong foundation for upper level nursing courses and clinical experiences. Students are nurtured as Christian professional nurses and servant leaders who understand the importance of holistic nursing care. Clinical experiences include opportunities for students to provide care that addresses the unique physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of human beings in a variety of healthcare settings throughout the Milwaukee area. The importance of continuing education and a desire to seek education beyond the baccalaureate level is fostered throughout the nursing program.
The School of Nursing faculty looks forward to working with you in your educational journey toward your professional nursing career. If you are a high school or transfer student and would like to be added to our nursing program candidate list, please complete the Online Request for Information Form.
